Tiger Lily Day Nursery is located on the outskirts of Halesowen, West Midlands and was formally known as The Stockings Residential Home. It has received a full renovation and opened its doors in January 2011 as a children’s day nursery.
Joint Managing Directors; Charlotte Moseley and Melissa Rexworthy; both having young children wanted to create a business that would enable them the freedom to watch their own children grow. With having experience of running a residential business and managerial qualifications, Tiger Lily Day Nursery became a reality.

Our Vision:
To be the first choice childcare provider within our community, offering the best service to our families and giving all children the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our Aims:
Our aim is to have happy, confident and caring children, who are motivated to learn through our well planned and exciting activities using both our indoor and outdoor environment. We aim to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which children may learn and grow in confidence and self-esteem whilst providing a friendly, flexible childcare service for parents.
We intend this by:
  • Creating a secure and happy environment that is child centred, stimulating and safe.
  • To do our best to offer the flexibility when meeting individuals requirements.
  • To employ qualified and experienced staff who pledge to give your child the very best attention and education.
  • To adopt the philosophy of positive learning through positive play.
  • To make learning fun for all.
  • To provide healthy nutritious meals.
All children have a key person, who is responsible for their needs during their time at nursery. This will include making observations on your child’s development as well as giving meals and feeds and carrying out nappy changes or potty training, as appropriate. You will be included in your child’s day at nursery through communication diaries, notice boards and general conversations.

Childcare Voucher Scheme
This is a government initiated scheme available from employers to support working parents in paying their childcare costs in a tax efficient way. Parents can order up to £243.00 per month - deductible from their salary before tax and national insurance, in exchange for vouchers. These vouchers can then be used to pay your fees at your Registered Childcare Provider. We accept a wide range of vouchers at Tiger Lily Day Nursery and are always willing to join with whatever company your workplace uses. However, your employer must offer the scheme in order for you to take part.

Government funding explained
Here’s how it all works:
Working Family funded childcare
This scheme is for qualifying working parents, the number of hours available and the age at which you can access this funding is changing

Current – Families can receive 30 hours of funded childcare for children 3+
Families can receive 15 hours of funded childcare for children 2+
September 2024 – Families can receive 15 hours of funded childcare for children 9 months+
September 2025 – Families can receive 30 hours of funded childcare for children 9 months+
The funded hours are provided across 38 weeks during term time and, if you’re living with your partner you’ll need to apply together.

Universal Funded Childcare 3+
This funding goes towards 15 hours of childcare across 38 weeks of term time. All parents of 3 and 4 years olds can access this scheme.
Here’s what you need to know:
  • All 3 and 4 year olds qualify for this scheme the term after their third birthday
  • At Tiger Lily, we can stretch these hours over the whole year for more flexibility, therefore most of our parent’s access around 11.18 hours funded hours per week over 51 weeks.
  • Our parents usually need their child to spend longer in nursery than funding allows, buts that’s no problem. We offer additional, non-funded hours to fit in with your schedule – see our fees on for more details
30 Hours childcare
The term after their child’s 3rd birthday alongside the universal 15 hours, some parents may become eligible to an additional 15 hours of funded childcare per week across 38 weeks of term time. This is referred to as the 30 hours funded childcare. This funding equates to 1140 hours of funded childcare across 38 weeks of term time. Please refer to the government criteria for 30 hours funding on their website:
https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

We also offer the scheme to some 2 year olds already in receipt of government support, if:
  • Parents are receiving certain benefits
  • The child has Disability Living Allowance or Special Education Needs (SEND)
  • The child has a kinship or guardianship order
  • The child is being looked after by a local authority.
Our 15 hours’ funded places for 2 year olds can be limited, and we don’t usually stretch these hours either.
For further information/criteria please refer to the government Time for Twos Funding on their website: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
